Saroja Sirisena served as the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the UK between 2020 and 2023. She was previously Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna. Saroja has also held diplomatic positions at UNESCO, in India (Consul General in Mumbai), Geneva, Brussels and Paris and in the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Economic Affairs and Public Communications). Since entering the public service in 1997, she has built expertise in public diplomacy, economic diplomacy, disarmament, sustainable development, and post conflict reconstruction.
